1929 Mercedes Benz 630 K

The Mercedes 630 models, powered by turbocharged engines, were among the best and most expensive cars you could buy in the 1920s. The 630 was offered as either a sedan or a sports model with a shortened wheelbase. The sports models had the additional designation "K", which means short wheelbase. The example shown here is one of these sports models. The K models easily reached a top speed of 145 km/h, making them among the fastest production cars of their time. Like the American La France, the car shown here took part in the Beijing-Paris Rally in 1997.
